The menu at The Cross Inn is a gastronomic delight of both elegant classic and stunning modern dishes: Sample perennial favourites such as haggis with neeps and tatties, or grilled salmon from Paxton House, caught daily when in season.

Naturally such attention to detail and the use of the finest fresh local produce means that the menu changes almost daily, to the utter delight of the many regular diners. Vegetarian diners are not forgotten, as Mike weaves his magic with the most perfect fruits and vegetables grown locally, such as the famous fine Scottish raspberries, and seasonal local vegetables.

The restaurant at The Cross Inn is open all week for lunch between 12.00 noon and 2.30pm and for dinner from 5.00 till 9.00pm. Relax in the beautiful and convivial restaurant setting, with Julie as your charming hostess; or enjoy the lovely established outdoor dining area, perfect for summer dining.
Mike and Julie have received many accolades for their devoted and passionate work with local fine produce, and have received a gold rating in the local food awards, and are highly commended in the Good Pub Food Guide.

Even though the standard and quality of the cuisine is exceptionally high at The Cross Inn, Berwick and Borders restaurant, Mike and Julie maintain a down to earth approach to pricing, and have a reputation for superb quality at a reasonable price: For example the children's menu starts at just £5, and is prepared with all the passion and fine ingredients as the main menu.
Mike believes that children have the right to experience real fresh food, and enjoy a wide and varied range of tastes, just as adults do, but on a scale relevant to their individual needs.

All of this stunningly presented and beautifully fresh locally sourced cuisine is complimented to perfection with fine wines from the old world, and the new : Julie and Mike are only too happy to help you choose the perfect wine to harmonise with your chosen dish. Even though we are a free house we have a long standing relationship with Belhaven brewery. You may wish to try one of our real ales that are supplied from breweries from both sides of the border.
