The Plough Inn is an excellent example of a traditional country inn; located in the peaceful hamlet of Allerdean which is just a short 4 mile drive west of Berwick upon tweed, The Plough Inn enjoys a scenic location with views out over rolling fields towards the Cheviot Hills.

Owned and run by Julie and Trevor, this welcoming inn offers two warm and friendly restaurants which can also be hired for private parties. Priding itself on its fresh locally sourced, seasonal produce, Trevor, who is the sole chef, creates an ever changing menu of delicious meals to suit every palate.

An extensive seafood menu is incredibly popular, utilising freshly caught fish fresh from Eyemouth harbour, a few miles up the coast, Trevor makes mouth-watering dishes including his special herb and pepper dusted Sea Bass which is served with fresh crayfish, langoustine and scampi.

The A la carte menu caters for all tastes and includes tempting offerings such as haggis stuffed chicken breast and rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce; all meat is sourced from a local butcher. Vegetarian options are available as are gluten free and other dietary requirements are well catered for with advance warning.

Sunday is a very popular day to visit this delightful country restaurant with the traditional Sunday dinner being incredibly popular; traditional roast beef is offered alongside four other choices of main course; choose to eat in either the bar area or in one of the cosy restaurant areas.

The bar serves a good choice of wines beers and spirits and serves Guinness and John Smiths on draft as well as cider. A good selection of real and local ales is becoming increasingly popular. The Plough Inn also offers a games room complete with jukebox and full size pool table allowing you to relax with a drink after your delicious home cooked meal.
